MediaGrab — X Session Helper

Lets MediaGrab use your signed-in X session to find videos needing login. Password, cookies, and tokens never leave your browser.

MediaGrab X Session Helper lets you download X (Twitter) videos that only appear when you're signed in to X — without ever sharing your X password, cookies, or login tokens with MediaGrab or anyone else. WHAT IT DOES Some X posts only show their video to visitors who are already signed in to X (X's own sensitive-content viewer setting, or an age-verification requirement). MediaGrab's normal, public video resolver can't see these — nothing can, without a real X session. This extension checks, using your own already-signed-in browser session, whether you can see a specific post on X. If you can, it hands MediaGrab the video's direct X CDN link so your browser downloads it straight from X's own servers — the same way a normal video download would work if X exposed that option directly. It cannot bypass any X restriction you don't already have access past. If your account can't see a post on x.com, this extension can't either. HOW IT WORKS 1. On mediagrab.download, paste a link to an X video that needs your session. 2. Click "Try with X Session Helper." 3. The extension briefly opens the post in a background tab on x.com, using your existing sign-in. 4. If your session can see the video, it reports the direct X video link back to MediaGrab. 5. Your browser downloads the video directly from X — never through MediaGrab's servers. YOUR PRIVACY - Your X password is never read, stored, or transmitted — this extension has no login form and no way to receive one. - Your X cookies (auth_token, ct0, or any other) are never read or transmitted. auth_token specifically is a browser-protected (httpOnly) cookie that extension code is technically unable to read at all. - Nothing about your X account or session is ever sent to MediaGrab's servers. Only a small, sanitized result — a title, thumbnail, and one or more direct video links — reaches the MediaGrab page you're on. - No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry of any kind. PERMISSIONS This extension requests permission only for x.com and twitter.com — nothing else. It does not request access to your browsing history, other websites, or your cookie store.
