Minutewell

Local-first meeting notes, todos and action items for Meet, Teams and Zoom (web).

Minutewell turns a meeting in your browser into a transcript and clear notes, without sending your audio anywhere. Open a Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom (web) meeting, click the Minutewell icon and press Record. A live transcript appears in the side panel. When the call ends, one click writes notes with a summary, key points, decisions, your to-dos and action items with owners. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT - Speech is turned into text on your computer, in your browser. Meeting audio is not uploaded and is not kept; only the text is saved. - Notes can be written by a model that also runs on your computer (it needs a graphics card with WebGPU), so nothing leaves your machine. - Prefer faster or better notes? Add your own Google Gemini API key. Then only the transcript text is sent to Google, and only when you choose it. - No account, no ads, no analytics. WHAT YOU GET - Live transcript while you record, with your own voice marked as "You". - Speaker names on Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, read from the meeting's live captions (turn captions on in the meeting). Only names are read. - Notes: summary, key points, decisions, to-dos and action items. - Saved meetings: every meeting is kept, encrypted, in your browser. Rename and delete them whenever you like. - Export: Markdown, plain text or JSON, or copy to the clipboard. - Speech models you can choose, from small and fast to large and accurate, including models for Hindi and Hinglish (Hindi written in English letters). - Keeps recording when the side panel is closed. GOOD TO KNOW - You are responsible for telling people that you are recording, where the law or your workplace requires it. Minutewell shows a reminder before your first recording. - Works in Chrome 116 or newer and other Chromium browsers. Local notes need WebGPU. - The first time you pick a model it downloads once from Hugging Face (from tens of megabytes to a few gigabytes, depending on the model) and is then kept in your browser. The extension itself includes the code to run the models. - Browser tabs only. Desktop apps for Meet, Teams or Zoom are not supported. - Captions-based speaker names depend on how Meet and Teams show captions and may stop working if they change their pages.
