Bookmark Tidy is a bookmark organizer for people who want to tidy up without rushing into permanent deletion. Choose the folders to review, inspect exact duplicate URLs, and decide which items to move into a local pending area. No account or developer backend. START WITH A SMALL FOLDER 1. Scan your chosen folders. Scanning is read-only. 2. Review the proposed changes and prepare a verified local snapshot before an approved change. 3. Confirm the operation yourself. Selected items are moved to a pending area, not permanently deleted. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Choose folders and find exact duplicate URLs within the same folder. - See matching URLs across folders as read-only hints. They are not automatically merged, so intentional categories stay intact. - Review empty leaf folders and choose which ones to handle. - Preview sorting for the direct children of one folder, without recursively reorganizing your entire bookmark library. - Move selected duplicate bookmarks and empty folders into a local pending area instead of permanently deleting them. - Export an HTML bookmark backup and roll back the most recent eligible batch when no conflicting changes have occurred. YOUR BOOKMARKS, YOUR CONTROL - Installing, opening or scanning does not automatically modify bookmarks. - Titles, URLs, paths and operation snapshots are processed in the current browser profile, not sent to the developer. - No accounts, ads, analytics service, remote favicon lookups, AI service or developer backend. - The extension does not open bookmarked URLs or check whether pages are online. - English and Simplified Chinese interfaces. Requires Chrome 134 or newer. Start with synthetic examples before scanning your own bookmarks. BEFORE YOU MAKE CHANGES - Approved operations change bookmark locations or order. Chrome Sync may copy those changes to other devices when enabled. - Rollback is conditional and limited to the most recent compatible batch; it is not unlimited undo. - Local snapshots are not independent backups that survive uninstalling. Export backups yourself and keep them private: they contain bookmark titles and URLs. - Importing an HTML backup may add bookmarks or duplicates and does not precisely restore original node IDs or order. - For permanent deletion from a pending folder, check your recovery needs and use Chrome's own bookmark tools.
