Article to PDF + APA Citation reads the page you are on, strips out the nav bars, ads, and sidebars, and turns the article into a clean, properly formatted PDF with an APA-style citation built in. **Why it is useful** - Save research, course readings, or reference articles as portable, properly cited PDFs. No print dialog, no manual citation formatting. - Everything happens on your device. There is no server, no account, and no tracking. See the privacy policy below for details. **How it works** 1. Click the toolbar icon on any article. 2. The extension pulls out the article text (using the same Readability engine that powers Firefox's Reader Mode) and scans the page for author, site name, and publish date. 3. Review and edit the pre-filled Title / Author / Site / Date fields. The APA citation preview updates as you type. 4. Click "Generate PDF." The file downloads immediately: title, citation (with a clickable source link), then the full article with its headings, lists, quotes, and images, plus page numbers. Links inside the article stay clickable in the PDF. *Built for course readings*: On learning-management systems like D2L Brightspace and Canvas, a reading often sits in a frame inside the module page. The extension finds it there, so you can click the icon right on the module page instead of opening the reading in a new tab first. If a reading is hosted on a different site from the course, open it in its own tab as before. **What is new in 1.3.7 and earlier** - Math formulas print as real formulas (fractions, symbols) instead of a jumble of numbers and code. Symbols inside a sentence become readable text, such as "x-bar". - D2L assignment pages opened from the Lessons view now print their instructions, not just the page's navigation. - Tabbed content on D2L pages now comes through in full. Every tab prints in order under its own heading, not just the one that was open. - Images that showed on the page but failed to copy into the PDF (some course diagrams, for example) now come through. - When images need access to another site, the extension explains the browser's prompt first. The prompt closes the popup, so your edits are kept and the PDF finishes on its own when you click the icon again. - Images that are broken on the page itself are no longer reported as failures, and any image that still cannot be copied is named in the message. **Permissions, plainly** - activeTab + scripting: only used to read the page you click the icon on, and only after you click it. Nothing runs in the background, and no other tabs are touched. This also covers fetching images for embedding, run from inside the page itself rather than a separate origin, which is what makes the request behave like the browser's own normal image loading. - No host permission is granted automatically. Some third-party image hosts, equation and formula renderers used by learning-management systems being a common example, serve images fine for normal display but never send the headers a fetch request needs. Only when an article references such a host does the extension ask Chrome, right at the moment you click Generate PDF, for permission to that one specific site, not every site you visit. Chrome shows its own native prompt naming the exact origin before granting anything. - downloads: only used to save the PDF you just generated to your computer. Not used to read, list, or manage any other downloads.
