Overview

Test rapid trigger tap speed and SOCD / Snap Tap on Hall effect and TMR keyboards. Works offline, collects no data.

Find out what your Hall effect, TMR or magnetic switch keyboard really does, right from your toolbar. RAPID TRIGGER TAP TEST Tap one key as fast as you can for 5 or 10 seconds. You get: • Taps per second and peak tap rate • Average press length • The shortest release gap, which is where rapid trigger shows • A timeline of every tap, and your best score saved Rapid trigger resets a key as soon as it starts rising, so you can tap again without lifting your finger all the way. Use the test to compare keyboards, or to tune your own rapid trigger and actuation settings. SOCD / SNAP TAP TEST SOCD (also called Snap Tap) decides what happens when you hold two opposite keys, like A and D. With SOCD on, the last key you pressed wins, so strafing changes direction instantly. A keyboard swaps the keys within a millisecond or two, faster than any finger, so the tester can tell whether SOCD is on or off: • Hold A and tap D (or W and S, or the arrow keys) • Get a clear verdict: SOCD on or off • See a live timeline of both keys, with swaps and overlaps marked Useful for checking a new keyboard, confirming a setting after a firmware update, or making sure SOCD is off before playing a game that doesn't allow it. WORKS WITH Any keyboard. It is made for Hall effect, TMR and magnetic switch gaming keyboards with rapid trigger and SOCD settings, and works just as well for checking a regular mechanical keyboard. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No permissions at all • Only reads keys pressed inside the tester window, never on other websites • Nothing is stored online or sent anywhere, and it works offline • Open source: https://github.com/hlplanet/rt-socd-tester MORE FREE TOOLS Test every key, N-key rollover and switch chatter with the full keyboard tester: https://www.hlplanet.com/online-keyboard-tester-tool/ Made by HLPlanet.com, home of Hall effect and TMR keyboard and controller reviews.
