Overview

Monitors UT Instapoll and fires audio, desktop, and push alerts the moment a live poll is detected.

Miss one Instapoll and lose the points. UT Instapoll Alert monitors the polls.la.utexas.edu page in real-time and fires a push notification to your phone, a desktop alert, and an audio chime the instant a poll opens. HOW IT WORKS Unlike timers that check every few seconds, this extension intercepts the same live WebSocket channel UT uses internally — you get the alert the exact moment the poll fires, not 10–30 seconds later. FEATURES • Real-time detection via WebSocket (Pusher) interception • Push notifications to any device via ntfy.sh — no app account required • Audio chime that repeats every 4 seconds until the poll closes • Experimental: auto-submit for one-click attendance polls • Clean status indicator (monitoring / poll detected / idle) SETUP 1. Install the extension 2. Open the popup and enter a free ntfy.sh topic name 3. Subscribe to the same topic in the ntfy app on your phone 4. Navigate to polls.la.utexas.edu — monitoring starts automatically PRIVACY No data leaves your browser except the push notification payload sent directly from your browser to ntfy.sh. No servers, no accounts, no tracking. Open source under MIT license: github.com/adihebbalae/UTPoll
