Translate YouTube Live captions, audio, and chat on-device with timestamps—no API key or server upload.

LIVO first reads captions displayed by the YouTube player and translates them with Chrome's on-device translation feature. Only when no caption appears for 8 seconds does LIVO attempt Chrome local speech recognition on the current tab audio. If neither path is available, LIVO shows an availability notice instead of calling a paid external API. Key features: - Caption-first on-device YouTube translation - Free local speech-recognition fallback when captions are unavailable - On-device translation of visible live chat - Chat-only, translation-only, and simultaneous split views - Explicit consent and progress UI before language-pack downloads - 39 selectable languages exposed by Chrome Translator - Original + translation captions with size and position controls - Device readiness diagnostics with an actual translation check - Phrase-level video timestamps and click-to-seek - Hide future entries after rewind and reuse session translations - Jump back to the live edge - Korean and English UI with 39 translation languages Privacy disclosure: - Audio, captions, chat, and translations are not sent to an external translation API or the LIVO server. - There are no audio files, server-side transcript archives, advertising, or behavioral tracking SDKs. - Session records disappear on stop, tab close, or page reload. - Only language and display settings may be stored in `chrome.storage.sync`. - Anonymous improvement statistics require an explicit first-run allow or deny choice and can be turned off from the popup at any time. - Only after opt-in, a random per-install UUID plus a coarse last step and an allowlisted error code are kept locally and deduplicated by hashes for up to 90 days after uninstall. - Names, emails, accounts, IP addresses, browser fingerprints, visited sites, and video information are not collected for analytics. Requirements and limitations: - Desktop Chrome 138 or later - Chrome on-device Translator support and the relevant language model - Missing packs are installed only after consent. Chrome selects and updates the latest compatible model; LIVO cannot force a specific model version. - Videos without YouTube captions require Chrome local SpeechRecognition and the relevant language pack - DVR-disabled live streams cannot seek to earlier timestamps LIVO is not created, endorsed, sponsored, or approved by YouTube or Google. LIVO does not block or bypass YouTube advertising, player controls, or chat functionality.
