LiveTranslate - Friskription
Overview
Capture audio from any tab (YouTube, Twitch, etc.), transcribe it, and show live translated subtitles as an in-page overlay.
Friskription puts live translated subtitles over whatever you’re watching — YouTube, Twitch, whatever’s playing in the tab. It waits for a pause so the sentence can finish, then shows the translation on-screen without flooding the page. ※※※NOTE※※※ This only works if you have an API from Open AI + Claude, or ElevenLabs + Claude. There is NO SUPPORT for in-app API where you can just pay for minutes. If you want that feature, let me know and I'll see what I can do! ※※※※※※※※※ Instead of digging through comment translations or waiting for official subs, it listens to the tab audio, waits for a natural pause, then drops a translated line onto the page. It’s built for YouTube, Twitch, and basically any normal site with speech. You pick the pipeline: ・ElevenLabs for transcription + Claude for translation ・OpenAI Whisper + Claude ・OpenAI (Both listening and translation) Everything runs with your own API keys, so you stay in control of cost and usage. The subtitle bar keeps only the latest few lines so it doesn’t bury the video, and you can customize the look — bigger text, different colors, solid black background, more transparent, whatever feels right!
