LiveSync Subtitles is a Chrome browser extension that captures the audio and video stream of web videos, uses AI to recognize speech in real time and translate it into the language you need, and displays subtitles perfectly aligned with the video. This extension is completely free, with no usage limits and no account registration required. All recognition and translation capabilities are provided by local AI models on your computer, free from any quota or subscription constraints. Your data never leaves your computer. Unlike most subtitle plugins, the subtitles of this extension are precisely aligned with the playing video -- just like pre-made subtitles. To achieve precise alignment between subtitles and the video, the video lags behind the real-time stream by a dozen seconds. It is therefore not suitable for scenarios that require real-time interaction, but works fine for watching live streams, on-demand, and replay videos that do not need real-time interaction. After installing the extension, you need to start the speech recognition service (whisper.cpp) and the translation service (llama.cpp) locally before each use. Open the video page you want to watch, then click the extension button in the top-right corner of the browser. Note: AI speech recognition and translation results may not be accurate. If the video content is important to you, please verify it through reliable means. This extension is a personal project without complete testing.
