LiveSky
Overview
Based on live flight data - aircraft fly across your screen, bringing a small joyful moment without disturbing your work.
There's something oddly satisfying about seeing an aircraft cross the sky above your head - it's not something you anticipate beforehand - it just happens. LiveSky brings that small joyful moment into your browser. Based on real, live flight data for the area you choose, aircraft occasionally fly across your screen - small, low-key and easy to forget about until one catches your eye. No pop-ups, no sounds, nothing that competes for your attention. Not a dashboard you check - but a way of keeping the sky in view. - Where LiveSky should appear is completely up to you and can be changed easily as well as individually to fit your preferences - Adjust size, opacity and color to make appearing planes as subtle (or as visible) as you like them to be - No ads - just your browser tracking the sky for you So if you've ever found yourself in a situation where you've paused just to watch a plane fly overhead, or simply enjoy tracking flights online, LiveSky is for you. Good to know - Flight data: adsb.fi Open Data (https://adsb.fi). Aircraft are shown a few seconds behind real time so they can move smoothly between position reports. - Why LiveSky runs on every website: the aircraft are drawn as a transparent layer on top of the page you are viewing. LiveSky does not read page content and does not record which websites you visit. Only sites you explicitly add as exceptions are saved, on your device only. You can switch it off globally or for individual sites at any time. - Location (optional): Only when you click "Find my location" on the settings page does LiveSky look up your current position - once per click, never automatically and never in the background. It centers your watched area on your position and marks it with a pin on the map. The exact position is stored only on your device, and only while the pin is shown. To fetch flight data, the center of your watched area, rounded to about 1 km, is sent to adsb.fi, so after a location lookup this is your approximate position. This feature requires the "Detect your physical location" permission that Chrome shows at installation; it ends when you disable or remove LiveSky. - No account, no analytics, no tracking. Settings are stored only on your device. - Privacy policy: https://ki-boss.github.io/livesky-privacy/
