Overview
Estimate live streaming upload speed and data usage: direct to each platform, or one stream via FeelThere Cloud. Free and offline.
Live Streaming Bandwidth Calculator by FeelThere Work out how much upload speed and how much data your live stream actually needs, before you go live. This is a free live streaming bandwidth calculator that runs entirely inside your browser, with no account and no sign in. WHAT IT ESTIMATES Pick your settings and the estimate updates instantly: * Resolution: 480p, 720p or 1080p * Frame rate: 24, 30 or 60 FPS * Audio quality: standard at 128 Kbps, or music at 192 Kbps * Connection type: Wi-Fi, 4G, 5G or Ethernet * Stream length in hours and minutes * Number of destinations, from 1 up to 8 You get the streaming upload speed you should plan for, the single stream requirement in Mbps, the local upload for your selected method, and the live stream data usage per hour. A safety margin is added on top of the raw requirement, because sustained upload stability matters more than a peak speed in a one off test. DIRECT STREAMING COMPARED WITH FEELTHERE CLOUD The calculator shows two scenarios using identical quality settings: * Direct streaming: the device uploads one outgoing stream to every destination, so the multistreaming bandwidth it needs grows with each destination you add. * FeelThere Cloud: the device uploads one contribution stream and the cloud distributes it, so the local upload requirement stays at a single stream level no matter how many destinations you select. The comparison makes the difference concrete. It shows the upload saved and the data saved per hour for the exact settings you chose, for anything from 1 to 8 destinations. CHECK YOUR OWN CONNECTION Run any speed test, then enter the upload result. The extension rates it against the requirement for your settings as Excellent, Suitable, Risky or Not recommended. No fixed speed is assumed for Wi-Fi, 4G, 5G or Ethernet, and no rating is shown until you enter a measurement of your own. FULL CALCULATOR AND FAQ Open the full calculator in a tab for a side by side comparison of both methods, a measured speed gauge, an explanation of how the streaming bitrate calculator works, and a FAQ covering common questions about upload speed, bitrate and mobile data usage. The full calculator also works offline. PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS * No permissions and no host permissions are requested. * No network requests are made. Fonts, icons and images are bundled, so the extension works with no internet connection. * No analytics, no tracking and no cookies. * Nothing you enter is stored or transmitted. Values live in memory only and are gone when you close the popup. ABOUT FEELTHERE FeelThere is a cloud powered mobile live streaming and multistreaming platform.
