The timer is embedded in the slide content — your audience sees it exactly as you do. ⏹ Stopwatch Start from zero with no upper limit. Great for open-ended activities or Q&A sessions. 🔢 Hundredths on count-up Count-up timers and stopwatches can show hundredths of a second (00:07.34) — for races, drills, and “beat the record” activities. Countdowns stay at whole seconds. 📊 Visual progress bar Replace the digits with a bar on the slide. It drains during a countdown and fills during a count-up. Easier to read at a glance, especially for younger students. 🎨 Color warnings The timer turns yellow when half the time is left, and red at 10% remaining. Colors apply to the digits — or to the bar, if the progress bar is on too. The two can be used together or on their own. 🕐 Live Clock & Date Show the current time or date directly on your slide. Full time (HH:mm:ss), hours and minutes only (HH:mm), 12-hour clock, or a date such as Aug 16, 2026. 🔔 Built-in Bell Sound Add |@ to play a built-in chime when the timer ends. Yes. Unlike other timer extensions, Live Slides Timer activates automatically. No need to close or refresh your slides. ❓ Is the timer visible to the audience? Yes. The timer is embedded inside the slide itself — not a floating overlay — so your audience sees it on the projected screen too. ❓ Can I hide the seconds on the clock? Yes. Use {{now|%HH:mm}} to show only hours and minutes. ❓ Can I start the timer manually instead of auto-starting? Yes. Enable "Manual start" in the tag builder. The timer will wait until you press Y (or your custom key) during the presentation. ❓ Can the timer start at a clock time I choose? Yes. Choose "At a time" in the tag builder. The timer waits until that time, then starts on its own. It cannot be started early from the keyboard. ❓ Can it show a progress bar or change color as time runs out? Yes. In the tag builder, turn on the progress bar and/or color warnings. They work separately or together. ❓ Can it play a sound when time runs out? Yes. Add |@ to any timer tag. A built-in bell chime plays at zero — no audio files or YouTube embeds needed. ❓ Does it work on shared or published presentation links? No. The extension runs in presentation mode only. Viewers must have the extension installed; it does not work on "Publish to the web" links. ❓ What permissions does it use? Only storage (to save your settings) and tabs (to detect the active slide tab).
