Live Regions Catcher

Catches ARIA live region updates and ariaNotify() calls on web pages, and shows them chronologically in the side panel.

"Live Regions Catcher" is a Chrome extension that detects changes to ARIA live regions on the page and visualizes them in a side panel. Every web page talks far more than you would expect, through its live regions. This extension treats those messages as a chat from the page to you, and shows them in the side panel like a chat app. Listen to what the page is saying. Then ask yourself whether what it says is really something that users of assistive technologies need to hear. And the people who use the web are not simply divided into those who see and those who do not. There are many people with visual impairments who are not blind and do not use a screen reader. Information that the screen does not convey well enough will not reach them, no matter how loudly the live region shouts. Visualizing live regions is also a chance to review whether what they say is equivalent to the meaning and information available visually.
