It turns a video call into translated subtitles: start it in a Google Meet, Zoom (web) or Microsoft Teams (web) tab, pick the language you hear and the language you read, and follow the call in your own language while people keep talking. Trippi captures the meeting audio and runs its own speech recognition instead of re-translating the platform's own captions. That means sharper subtitles — and it works where the platform offers no translation at all. • One job, done properly. The speech has to be heard correctly and the translation has to hold: a language that only half works never makes the list. • Private by design. WHY NOTES IN YOUR LANGUAGE ARE A DIFFERENT THING An AI note taker writes the notes in the language of the call. When the meeting ran in a language you barely follow, notes in that language are simply one more thing to translate — and a summary of a transcript you could not read is a guess on top of a guess. Trippi hears the call, translates it as it goes, and builds the transcript, the notes and the recap in the language you chose to read. What you keep after the meeting is already in your language. Open your call in Google Meet, Zoom (web) or Microsoft Teams (web) — or any other tab that plays sound. 3. Click Trippi and choose the language you hear and the language you read. 4. QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK How do I translate a Google Meet call? Open the call, click Trippi, choose your language pair and press Start captions. Translated captions appear over the meeting. Do I need a Google Workspace plan? No. Google Meet only translates captions on paid Workspace tiers, and Teams keeps it behind Premium. Trippi works on free and personal accounts. Can I translate a Zoom meeting? Yes, when you join Zoom in the browser. The desktop Zoom app isn't covered yet — a companion app for it is planned. Does it work with Microsoft Teams? Yes, Teams on the web (teams.microsoft.com, teams.live.com and teams.cloud.microsoft). Does it work with Webex, Discord or other meeting apps? Yes, as long as the call runs in a browser tab. Trippi captions the sound of the tab, so it also captions Webex, a Discord voice chat, Whereby, Jitsi, a Slack huddle and any other site that plays a call — it does not need to know which one it is. On Google Meet, Zoom and Teams it labels who is speaking; on other sites the speakers are numbered instead. Can I use it for a webinar, a conference call or an online class? Yes. Trippi takes the sound from the browser tab, so it captions a webinar, a conference call, an online class or a lecture the same way it captions a meeting in Google Meet, Zoom or Teams — it does not need to know which site it is. Can I get meeting notes and a summary afterwards? Yes. Every call is saved to a meeting log — your last 50 meetings, kept in the browser on your own machine. Open one to read the full transcript with speaker names, press Summarize for a recap with the decisions and the action items, and export it as .txt or Markdown. The notes and the summary come out in the language you read, not the language the meeting was held in. Will the notes and the summary come out in my language, or the language of the call? In your native language — the one you chose to read. Press Summarize and the recap comes out in it: what was decided, the action items and who owns them, the questions left open. Does it work for a multilingual meeting? Yes. A multilingual call still becomes one bilingual transcript for you: the original line and its translation side by side. That is the point of cross-language notes — everyone in the meeting can read the same call in their own language. Why don't I see any captions? Trippi captions the sound of the tab, not your microphone. Alone in a call there is nothing to hear — captions begin as soon as somebody else speaks. Does a bot join my meeting? No. Trippi is an overlay inside your own browser, so the other participants see nothing. Is my meeting recorded? No. There is no audio or video recording. The audio is processed to produce your captions and is not stored. Where is the transcript kept? In your own browser, on your own machine. We keep no copy of it: nothing said in the meeting is written to our database or our logs. You can delete one meeting or all of them at any time, or switch the transcript off entirely. Does anything leave my browser, and when? In two cases, and both go only to you. When you press "Summarize", the text of that one meeting is sent to be summarized and is not stored afterwards. And if you are signed in, the transcript of each call is emailed to the address on your own account — that one happens on its own, so there is a switch for it in Options ("Email me the transcript after each call"). On an anonymous install, where there is no address to write to, nothing is sent at all. Can other people see my subtitles? No — the captions are drawn in your browser only. Made for non-native speakers on English-first calls, remote and distributed teams, freelancers working with foreign clients, students following lectures in a second language, and anyone in an international meeting who would rather read than guess.
