ListenPad — listen to the video, read along, take notes and screenshots. ListenPad is a reading panel for people who like to read while they listen: audiobooks, lectures, talks, podcasts and language learning. It shows a video's subtitles right over the video like an easy-to-read page, highlights the word being spoken, and lets you save any sentence with one key, together with its timestamp and translation. Lecture slides are captured as screenshots with one key too. Works on YouTube, Vimeo, Mediasite and any HTML5 video with subtitles. Available for Chrome and Brave, in English and Turkish. ★ READING PANEL • Subtitles appear sentence by sentence in a panel over the video. The spoken word is highlighted and the panel scrolls along. • Click any word to jump to that moment. Double-click the panel to play or pause. • Scroll away to read ahead and following pauses by itself; one click on ◎ brings you back. While the video is paused, the panel stays where you are. • Move the panel, resize it from its edges, set its transparency or dock it to the left/right side of the player. • Paper, Light and Dark themes; choose your font and size. • The panel opens only when you want it (the 📖 button or Alt+T); it is off by default. ★ BILINGUAL READING (TRANSLATION) • A translation under every sentence in a small, soft line. Turns on by itself when the video's language differs from your browser's. • Translation sources: the video's own translation, Google Translate or Chrome's on-device translator. "Automatic" picks the best available. • Translations are saved once fetched: reopening a video shows them instantly, with no new requests. • Language and source are remembered per video. • On dubbed videos, switching the audio language switches the subtitles too. ★ TAKE NOTES, WITH TRANSLATION • Save a sentence or a selected phrase in one click: the quote, its timestamp, its translation and the full sentence it came from. • Add your own comment and tags (#vocabulary, #exam…); your earlier tags are suggested. • Alt+N: note the selected text; with nothing selected, instantly save the sentence being spoken. • Noted sentences are underlined in the panel and marked on the video's progress bar. • Select text on any web page and save it as a note too; "Show on page" takes you right back to that paragraph. ★ SCREENSHOTS (CAPTURE SLIDES) • Capture lecture slides with one key (P by default; pick another letter in the settings). Works even with the panel closed. • The picture is taken straight from the video at its own resolution; the panel and player buttons are not in it. • If text is selected in the panel, that text goes into the slide note; otherwise the current sentence and its translation. • Choose where it goes: your notes, your Downloads folder (one folder per video), both, or the clipboard. • Download all slides of a video at once from My notes as a ZIP, or save them to a folder. ★ YOUR OWN SUBTITLES • Load your own SRT/VTT files for videos with poor or missing subtitles; several languages at once. • Use one file as the main text and another as the translation line. • Timing off? Shift it ±0.5 s from the menu or ±0.1 s with Shift+Z / Shift+X. • Word timings are aligned to the video's auto-generated captions automatically, or estimated from the speaking rate. ★ LISTENING TOOLS • Repeat a sentence (🔁 / Shift+R): loop a hard sentence. • Previous/next sentence (Shift+← / Shift+→), back to the start of the sentence (R). • Playback speed 0.75x – 2x. • Search the text (Shift+F); Ctrl+Enter jumps the video to the sentence found. • Resume: reopen a video and continue where you left off. ★ MY NOTES AND EXPORT • Notes are grouped by video, web page and tag, with search, editing and deleting. • YouTube and Vimeo notes link back to the exact second of the video. • Save a video's whole transcript (with translation) as a note, or download it as .txt / .md. • Export notes as Markdown or JSON; import a JSON backup into another browser. ★ IN YOUR OWN GOOGLE DRIVE (OPTIONAL) • Connect Google Drive: your notes and slides sync to a "ListenPad" folder in your Drive. • Every browser connected to the same account (Chrome, Brave) has the same notes. • ListenPad only accesses the files it creates in your Drive; it cannot see your other files. ★ SHORTCUTS • Alt+T — open/close the panel • Alt+N — note the selection or the current sentence • P — screenshot (configurable) • Shift+F — search the text • Shift+R — repeat the sentence • Shift+← / Shift+→ — previous/next sentence, R — start of sentence • Shift+Z / Shift+X — shift loaded subtitles by 0.1 s • Double-click — play/pause ★ PRIVACY ListenPad has no server; no account, ads, analytics or tracking.
