LinkSure AI reviews sources in AI answers, checks whether links are reachable, and optionally matches scholarly references.

AI answers often include links and scholarly references that deserve a closer look. LinkSure AI groups those sources by answer, shows which ones need attention, and helps you inspect them without pretending that a technical check proves the AI is correct. SOURCE REVIEW • Repeated destinations count once, so duplicate links do not inflate the result. • Attention items appear first in a review panel for each assistant answer. • Open, recheck or locate the exact source in the answer. • The toolbar popup summarizes the current page and opens the latest answer review. LINK SIGNALS • Source responded — the destination answered. • Destination changed — the address redirected elsewhere. • Sign-in may be required — the destination responded with restricted access. • Page reported missing — only an explicit HTTP 404 or 410 receives this treatment. • Check inconclusive — timeouts, rate limits and server errors remain neutral. • Not checked — the security policy refused a local, private or invalid destination. SCHOLARLY REFERENCES LinkSure AI detects likely scholarly references locally. Optional metadata lookup is off by default. If you turn it on, LinkSure AI compares limited citation fields with public Crossref, DataCite and OpenAlex records. It can show a publication match, a possible match, several possible matches, no confident match, or an inconclusive lookup. It never silently selects an ambiguous candidate. WHAT IT NEVER CLAIMS A responding link is not necessarily accurate, safe or supportive of the AI's statement. A missing page does not prove the AI was wrong. A metadata match identifies a publication, not what the publication proves. LinkSure AI is not a fact-checker or malware scanner and never gives an answer quality, trust or safety score. DATA DISCLOSURE LinkSure AI has no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking identifiers or backend server. The extension reads assistant-answer structure, links and scholarly-reference text on supported chat pages so it can present source review. User-authored messages are excluded. Conversation text and page HTML are not stored. For a link check, the browser sends that URL only to its destination, without cookies, credentials, a request body or a referrer. Response bodies are not read. Scholarly lookup is separate and off until you enable it. When enabled, the parsed citation title, authors, year, venue and identifiers may be sent to Crossref, DataCite and OpenAlex. Full conversations, surrounding prose and user-authored messages are not sent. Those providers may log requests under their own policies. The extension displays this disclosure before the setting can be enabled. Settings and bounded result caches stay in Chrome local storage and can be cleared from the popup. PERMISSIONS The only required permission is local storage. The content script runs on six named ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini hosts. Permission to contact public destination websites is optional and is requested only from a button you click. It can be revoked in Chrome. ACCESSIBILITY States use text and symbols as well as colour. Controls are keyboard reachable, focus is restored when review surfaces close, narrow screens use a bottom sheet, and reduced-motion, dark and forced-colour styles are included.
