Overview

Recover broken links, check if pages are archived, save web pages, and track content changes with LinkRescue.

LinkRescue β€” Recover Broken Links, Archive Web Pages & Track Changes LinkRescue is a browser extension that helps you recover broken links, archive web pages, and track changes to online content. It protects you from missing pages, deleted articles, and silently updated websites β€” so important links never lose their context. What LinkRescue Does πŸ”— Detects fragile and at-risk web pages LinkRescue identifies pages that are likely to change, move, or disappear over time β€” including news articles, blog posts, documentation, policy pages, and research content. Pages are marked **At Risk** when they may not be reliably accessible in the future or **have not yet been archived in a web archive**. A non-blocking popup alerts you when a page may be worth preserving, without interrupting your browsing. πŸ“¦ Highlights pages that haven’t been archived yet LinkRescue checks whether a page already has a preserved copy available in a web archive. If no archive is found, the page is clearly marked **At Risk**, helping you identify content that could be lost if it disappears or changes later. This makes it easy to decide **what** to archive β€” and **when**. πŸ—„οΈ Archive web pages before they disappear With one click, LinkRescue opens a trusted web archive service (such as the Wayback Machine) in a new tab so you can save a permanent snapshot of the page. - No automatic archiving - No background captures - You stay in full control πŸš‘ Recover broken, deleted, or removed pages If you land on a broken link (404 error), deleted page, or removed article, LinkRescue automatically looks for cached and archived versions and presents them instantly. Instead of a dead end, you can continue reading preserved copies from web archives and cached pages. πŸ”„ Track website and page changes over time If you’ve previously visited or archived a page, LinkRescue can detect meaningful changes to the content β€” including updates to titles, structure, or text. Changed pages are clearly highlighted, helping you spot: - Rewritten articles - Updated documentation - Modified policy or reference pages This ensures the information you rely on stays accurate and trustworthy. 🏦 Keep a permanent Link Vault LinkRescue maintains a personal **Link Vault** β€” a centralized record of pages you’ve interacted with. Each link appears once and accumulates status over time: - Archived - Recovered - Broken - Changed - At Risk The Vault makes it easy to review important links, access archived versions, and understand long-term reliability. Common Use Cases - Recover broken or deleted links - Check if a web page has been archived - Archive important web pages for future reference - Track changes to documentation, articles, and policies - Preserve research sources and citations - Access cached versions of missing pages What LinkRescue Does *Not* Do - It does not run on Google search results or navigation-only pages - It does not block or modify websites - It does not archive pages without your action - It does not track, sell, or share personal browsing data Privacy & Security LinkRescue runs locally in your browser. Your saved links and browsing activity remain private. In short: LinkRescue turns fragile web pages into reliable references β€” before they disappear, and even after they change.
