LinkGuard
Overview
Privacy-first browser extension that checks link safety before you click. Open-source, zero tracking, sub-100ms response time.
LinkGuard protects you from phishing, scams, and malicious links — before you click. HOW IT WORKS Hover over any link on any website. LinkGuard instantly analyzes it and shows a small tooltip with a safety rating. No clicking required. No data sent to third parties. WHAT IT CHECKS ✓ SSL certificate (HTTP vs HTTPS) ✓ Suspicious domain patterns and typosquatting (paypa1.com ≈ paypal.com) ✓ Dangerous TLDs commonly used in phishing (.tk, .xyz, .top and more) ✓ Phishing keywords in URLs (verify, account, secure, update) ✓ IP addresses used instead of domain names ✓ Homograph attacks (lookalike characters from other alphabets) ✓ Shortened URLs — automatically expands bit.ly, tinyurl, tiny.pl and others to show the real destination PRIVACY FIRST - Zero data collection — LinkGuard never sends your browsing history anywhere - No account required - No analytics, no telemetry - Full source code available on GitHub OPEN SOURCE LinkGuard is fully open source. You can inspect every line of code at github.com/nowakpawel/linkguard Built by a developer who got tired of clicking links and hoping for the best.
