Link Safety Checker

Flags suspicious links on the page and shows the current page's connection security in the toolbar.

Link Safety Checker helps you spot phishing and unsafe links before you click them — right on the page, as you browse. WHAT IT FLAGS • Links where the visible text doesn't match where they actually go (e.g. text says "paypal.com" but the link goes elsewhere) • Links using plain HTTP instead of HTTPS • Links to domains that look like misspellings of common brands (PayPal, Amazon, major banks, etc.) Flagged links get a red outline directly on the page, with a tooltip explaining why. Click the toolbar icon for a full list. PAGE SECURITY AT A GLANCE The toolbar badge shows whether the page you're on uses HTTPS with a valid certificate — green for secure, yellow for plain HTTP, red for a certificate problem. OPTIONAL: GOOGLE SAFE BROWSING Add your own free Google Safe Browsing API key (instructions in the extension's settings) to also check pages against Google's list of known malicious sites. PRIVACY This extension collects no data. Link analysis happens entirely on your device. If you configure a Safe Browsing key, the current page's URL is sent directly to Google's API — never through us.
