LingoBlend - Learn While You Browse

Build vocabulary as you read: blend target-language words into any page, and save words from anywhere with a right-click.

Turn the pages you already read into language practice. LingoBlend swaps a slice of the words on a web page into the language you are learning. You read a normal English article, and a share of the words show up in Spanish. You work them out from context — the way you picked up your first language — then click any one of them to see the original and keep it. TWO WAYS TO BUILD VOCABULARY Blend the page you are on. Choose how much gets swapped, from 5% to 100%. Blended words are marked; click one to reveal the original underneath and save the pair to your dictionary. Save a word from anywhere. Select any word on any page, right-click, and choose "Save to LingoBlend". It is translated, added to your dictionary, and waiting in the mobile app. THE TRANSLATION NEVER LEAVES YOUR COMPUTER This is the part we care about most. Blending runs on Chrome's built-in on-device translator. The text of the pages you read is never uploaded, never logged, and never sent to us or to anyone else. There is no analytics and no telemetry in this extension. The only things that ever leave your machine are a single word you explicitly choose to save, and your sign-in. YOU TURN IT ON, AND YOU CAN TURN IT OFF Blending is off when you install. Switch it on in the toolbar popup and Chrome will ask your permission to run on the pages you read; after that, blending applies automatically to pages you open, until you switch it off. You can also skip the permission entirely and just press "Blend this page" on the tab you are looking at. BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY - Off by default on the places you work rather than read: email, document editors, chat, code hosting and design tools. - Never touches what you are typing, form fields, or code blocks. - Copy blended text and you get the original words back, so nothing strange lands in your email. - One switch turns blending off everywhere, another turns it off for the site you are on. LANGUAGES Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, Hungarian, Finnish, Indonesian, Turkish, Dutch and Serbian. Right-click saving works with all of them. On-page blending works with all except Serbian, which Chrome's on-device translator does not yet support. FREE AND PRO Blending, revealing and saving words are free and unlimited. One feature is Pro: "Base form" finds the dictionary form of a conjugated word (escogido → escoger) with a short grammar note. Pro is purchased inside the LingoBlend mobile app — nothing is sold in this extension. WHAT YOU NEED - A free LingoBlend account. This extension is the desktop half of the LingoBlend app for iOS and Android; your saved words sync there for review and practice. - Chrome 138 or later on desktop for on-page blending — that is the version where Chrome's built-in translator became available.
