Understand foreign-language articles, research materials, and learning resources without interrupting your reading flow. Beyond translation, you can explore word meanings, key phrases, and alternative translations to understand why a sentence is expressed a certain way. ▍See translations right where you're reading Select text on a webpage and click the translation icon that appears nearby to view the result. You can also enable instant translation upon text selection or enter and paste text into the toolbar popup for translation. ▍Choose a translation style that suits your needs ・Natural: Fluent, natural wording for everyday reading. ・Literal: Stays close to the original sentence structure for side-by-side comparison. ・Learning: Uses simple, easy-to-understand language to help you grasp the meaning. ▍Go beyond translation and understand the details After translating, click "More Insights" to explore common word meanings, key phrases, alternative translations, and possible interpretations of the sentence. ▍Listen to the original and translated text Click the speaker button to hear the original or translated text, and click again to stop playback. Get a Gemini API key from Google AI Studio. 2. Open the Lingo Bubble settings page, enter your API key, and save it. 3. Open or refresh a webpage, then select text to start translating. You must configure your own Gemini API key before using the extension. Translations, language insights, and connection tests consume your Gemini API quota. Available quotas and charges depend on Google's plans and usage policies. ▍Data and privacy Text selected for translation is sent directly to the Google Gemini API. When you use "More Insights," the corresponding translated text is also sent. The extension does not additionally upload entire webpage contents, page URLs, or browsing history. API keys are stored in your local Chrome profile and are not synced through Chrome Sync. Text-to-speech uses remote voices provided by Chrome. Spoken text is processed by the remote service associated with your selected voice engine. Available voices may vary depending on your environment.
