Requires a Linga account with an active PRO subscription. Free accounts can sign in, but translation and dictionary actions are unavailable. If you do not have a Linga plan yet, activate one before installing. Linga turns any page you read into vocabulary practice. TRANSLATE WITH ONE CLICK Double-click any word and its card opens at once — translation, pronunciation, and the sentence it came from, so the meaning matches the context you actually met the word in (pictures too, if you switch them on). Alt+click (Option+click on a Mac) does the same without selecting anything. Prefer selecting? Highlight a word or a phrase (up to a paragraph) and click the small Linga mark by its end, right-click and choose "Translate with Linga", or press Alt+T. SEE YOUR OWN WORDS ON EVERY PAGE Words already in your dictionary are underlined on the pages you read, in the colour of their learning status. Click one to review it. Every article becomes a spaced-repetition session. READING MODE Turn reading mode on for a tab and every plain click on a word translates it — links go quiet, the page becomes a text to read with a dictionary in hand. Alt+R toggles it. VIDEO CAPTIONS On YouTube, click a word in the captions: the video pauses, the card opens, and playback resumes when you close it. SAVE IT TO YOUR DICTIONARY IN ONE CLICK Words you add from the browser are the same words you study in the Linga apps: they sync to your account, keep their language pair, and show up in your training. MANAGE YOUR DICTIONARY FROM THE SIDE PANEL Search, filter by learning status, edit your own translations, add pictures and notes, change a word's status, or delete it — without leaving the page you were reading. Hear the pronunciation of any word you look up. Sign in with your email, Google or Apple. Your language pair comes from your Linga account, so the extension is set up as soon as you sign in. Switching from another vocabulary tool? The Linga app imports word lists (CSV, Anki), so nothing you have learned is left behind. DATA AND PRIVACY To show the selection bubble, Linga locally examines the nearest surrounding text block and extracts one sentence of context. Only the selected or clicked text and its extracted sentence are sent after you request a translation. To underline your dictionary words, the extension compares the page's text with your dictionary locally, on your device; the page's text never leaves the browser. Each lookup and its sentence context is saved to your Linga translation history and can appear in your Linga apps, even if you do not add the word to your dictionary. Linga does not collect the page URL, page title, or your browsing history. The extension stores your sign-in session, account profile, language settings, device identifier, and UI preferences in this Chrome profile; it does not use Chrome Sync. Dictionary changes, notes, and images you choose to save are sent to your Linga account. Linga may use the translation, AI, text-to-speech, and image providers identified in the privacy policy only to deliver features you request. Unexpected crash diagnostics may be sent to Sentry; reports exclude page URLs, selected text, email, account ID, and browsing activity. Linga's own analytics service records a limited set of extension events—such as install/update, opening the popup or panel, translation entry point, sign-in outcome, plan gate, upgrade click, and sign-out—together with technical/account identifiers described in the privacy policy. It does not receive page URLs, selected text, translated words, credentials, or browsing history. The extension contains no advertising or cross-site tracking, and Linga does not sell user data.
