Liminal Reader
Overview
A distraction-free reading extension with customizable modes for better focus.
Liminal Reader wraps any article or long-form page in a clean, distraction-free reading overlay. No sidebars, no ads, no noise. Pick the mode that matches how you want to read: Full Mode — the whole article, nothing else. Adjustable font size and line height, remembered across sessions. Paragraph Mode — one paragraph at a time, with a progress bar and Back/Next navigation. Great for long reads you keep abandoning halfway. Sentence Mode — one sentence at a time. Ideal for dense or technical writing where nothing should get skimmed past. Study Mode brings a two-phase reading layer built on top of the other modes. The Skim phase shows only the first sentence of each paragraph so you can get the shape of the article before committing. The Thorough phase keeps the full article on screen but focuses one paragraph at a time. Scroll or use arrow keys to move through it deliberately. Notes Panel lets you write notes anchored to specific paragraphs. Export everything as a clean .txt file with the note, source paragraph, and timestamp. No account required. Four themes to choose from: Paper (warm off-white), Pure White, Green Tint, and Dark. Free and open source. Works on any article or long-form page. No account, no data collection, no tracking.
