Test-Lab.ai runs AI-powered browser tests in the cloud. This extension does two things: it records a test by watching you click through a flow, and it lets your cloud tests reach URLs only your own browser can see. RECORD A TEST Click Record, walk through a flow on your own site, hit Stop. The extension turns your clicks, form entries and navigations into a ready-to-edit Test-Lab.ai test plan and a reference Playwright script, with a screenshot for every step and, optionally, a video of the session. A side panel lists the captured steps as they land and lets you add assertions and notes as you go, and a red REC badge sits on the toolbar icon for as long as the recording runs, so you can always see what is being captured. It works with no account: a recording stays on your device until you choose to send it to Test-Lab.ai. Values typed into password, one-time-code and card-number fields are never read. TUNNEL Let your cloud tests also reach URLs that only YOUR browser can see: your development server on localhost, a staging host behind SSO, or a corporate intranet inside a VPN, without opening any firewall. 1. Install the extension and click "Connect". You sign in once with your Test-Lab.ai account and the extension stores a narrowly-scoped API key: it cannot trigger test runs or read your project data. 2. When you kick off a test with tunnel mode enabled, Test-Lab.ai sends HTTP requests to this extension over an authenticated WebSocket. The extension performs each request from your browser and streams the response back. 3. Because the fetch happens in your browser, it hits whatever your browser can hit: localhost, VPN-only hosts, or SSO-guarded staging. WHAT WE WILL AND WILL NOT DO WITH YOUR BROWSER - We never attach your cookies. Every relayed fetch uses credentials: "omit", so test-lab tests cannot read the session you are logged into. - We do not touch page DOMs or inject scripts outside an active recording. The recorder script is injected only into the tab you are viewing, only after you click Record, and is torn down when the recording ends. - We do not read clipboard, history, bookmarks, or any other browser data. - Outside a recording upload, we only open a single WebSocket to www.test-lab.ai. That's the only outbound network activity the extension initiates on its own. PRIVACY Nothing leaves your machine unless you ask it to. The data the extension sends to Test-Lab.ai is: - The API key you authorize (for authentication). - The responses to the specific URLs your test requests reach. - A recording you choose to save to your account: the captured steps, one screenshot per step, and the session video if you turned it on. A recording stays on your device until you save it, and values typed into password, one-time-code and card-number fields are never read. For HTTPS targets we terminate TLS inside the sandboxed test runner using a synthetic self-signed cert; end-to-end TLS to the real origin is re-established inside your browser, so upstream certificates are never held or inspected by Test-Lab.ai.
