Overview
Every 30 days, review what your other extensions can access and confirm you still want to keep them. Runs entirely locally.
Every extension you install gets asked for permission exactly once. Then it never gets asked again. ExtRenew fixes that. Every 30 days, it opens a plain-English review of everything your other extensions can access, explains what each permission actually means, rates how much access each one has, and asks you to renew, disable, or remove it. Nothing happens automatically. You decide, every time. WHAT IT DOES • Lists every other installed extension and what it can access, in plain language, not technical jargon • Rates each one on a simple scale, from Blindfolded (nothing notable) to Total Control (the most access an extension can have) • Flags anything that's changed since your last review, including version bumps and sideloaded or developer-mode installs • Reminds you every 30 days, with snooze options if you're not ready • Keeps disabled extensions in their own section, separate from what's still active HOW IT WORKS ExtRenew reads the same information Chrome already shows you when you install something, using Chrome's own management API, and nothing else. It doesn't scan the web, doesn't need an account, and doesn't talk to any server. Your review history is stored locally on your device using Chrome's standard storage, and it stays there. WHY IT EXISTS Permissions don't expire. They don't get flagged. Nothing in Chrome circles back to ask if you still want them. That's not a rare edge case, it's just how it has always worked. ExtRenew is the follow-up question that should have existed from the start. Built by Ant Davis. More info and privacy policy: extrenew.com
