Overview
Spot clickbait and misinformation while you browse, get the context a headline leaves out, and save sources for research.
Remedia helps you spot clickbait, fake news and false claims while you browse. WHAT IT DOES - On the news portals Remedia tracks, it marks links that have been fact-checked or flagged, can replace clickbait headlines with neutral ones, and can dim marked articles. Each is a switch you control. On any other page the extension reads nothing. - Flag a link as suspicious, report the page you are on, or suggest a news portal to Remedia - no account needed. Flags go to Remedia's editors for review; other readers do not see them. - Get context (sign in with a free Remedia account): on a Facebook post or an article of a portal Remedia tracks, get a short AI-written note (about 60 words) with the fact the headline leaves out, ending with the source and a link. Up to 10 a day (resets at midnight, Zagreb time). It respects publishers' opt-outs: if an outlet says in robots.txt, TDMRep, a Content-Signal line or a "noai" tag that it does not want automated or AI processing, nothing is read and you are told why. Paywalled articles are never summarized. You read the text and post it yourself - nothing is ever posted for you. - Dislike a clickbait headline (signed in): your dislike is saved to your account and is seen by you and the people who follow you on Remedia - it is never public. - Select text on any page and save it, with a note, into a research folder in your Remedia account (signed in). Folders are private unless you share them. YOUR DATA - The extension works on a list of tracked news portals. On any other page it does not read links and sends nothing. - Get context sends the web address of the article (and the headline and short description shown on the Facebook post) to Remedia, only when you press the button, and only while you are signed in. It does not send your browsing history or the text of the post. - Flagging a link or reporting a page sends its address and title. A dislike sends the same and is stored with your account. - Saving a passage sends the text you selected and your note to your own private research folder, only when you pick the menu item. - Full details: https://remedia.social/extension-privacy - Privacy policy: https://remedia.social/privacy_policy Remedia is an independent fact-checking project.
