QR Code Reader (Offline)

Read QR codes from any image, the page, your clipboard or the webcam. Decoded on your computer, nothing uploaded.

Read any QR code you can see in the browser, in one gesture, and see what it says before anything opens. Other QR readers upload the image to a server or ask for access to every website. This one does not. It reads the code on your computer, shows you the decoded text, and leaves the next step to you. Four ways to read - Right-click any image and choose "Read QR code". - Click the toolbar button and "Scan this page" to find every code in view. - Paste or drop an image into the popup. - Open the camera scanner for codes on paper or a screen. What you see - The decoded text, with the kind recognised: link (with its domain), Wi-Fi network, contact card, email, phone, SMS, location or plain text. - Matching actions: Copy, Open (links only, never automatic), Copy password (Wi-Fi), Copy phone. - A local history of the last 50 results, on by default, clearable, never synced anywhere. Pro (one-time license, no subscription) - Generator with colours, logo and SVG export (the plain black-and-white PNG generator is free). - Export a page's list of codes, and the history, as CSV. Privacy - No account, no analytics, no tracking, no remote configuration, no access to websites. - The only network request the extension can ever make is the optional Pro license check, which sends your license key and nothing else. Permissions, in one line each - activeTab: to take a screenshot of the tab you clicked on, which is how the code is read without access to any website. - scripting: to measure the image you right-clicked and to show the result next to it. - contextMenus: for the right-click entries. - storage: to remember your settings and the local history. The camera scanner asks for the camera through the browser's own prompt, only when you open it. Not supported: browser-internal pages and the extension stores.
