Overview

Reads a table, or a page with AI, that you choose and, only when you approve, adds what it finds to your Navceed workspace.

Navceed brings a table, or other information, from a web page into your Navceed workspace, without copying and pasting. Open a page that shows an ordinary table: a report, a list with column headings, a status table. Click the Navceed icon and the side panel shows what it read on that page: the page title, how many rows and columns, the column names and a preview of the first rows. All of that is read inside your browser. Nothing has been sent. What it reads well, and what it does not: - Works best on one ordinary table with column headings. That is where it reads the rows, the columns and the headings correctly. - Lists that are split into pages, or that load more rows as you scroll, are read only as far as they are drawn. The panel says so ("showing 25 of 300"); read again after you go to the next page or scroll. Some pages state their own total, and the panel repeats it, so on some pages that number can be wrong: trust the row count in the preview. - When a page has several tables, it picks one and says which. If it is not the one you want, do not send it. - Grids built from layers of boxes, and some web lists, may merge cells together or lose their headings. Calendars, documentation pages and pages that show one record rather than a list are not tables and may read as nonsense. Tables drawn on a canvas (some web spreadsheets) cannot be read. - The preview is the check: if it does not look like the table you are looking at, do not send it. When you want the rows in your workspace, press "Send to my workspace". The panel then shows one plain sentence, for example "Send 12 rows × 6 columns from app.example.com to navceed.com?", together with the page address and the column names. Nothing is sent until you press "Yes, send". If you cancel, nothing is sent. If the page changes while you decide, what is sent is still exactly what you were shown. Reading a page with AI (optional, only when it is switched on): click "Read this page with AI" and the panel shows you all the text it found, which site it is from, the page address and the page title. Nothing has been sent. Press "Send to Navceed to read" to send exactly that text, the address, the title and the site's name to Navceed, which passes it to an AI provider (named in the privacy policy) to find records. The records appear in the panel; nothing is stored until you press "Add to workspace". AI can be wrong, so check them first. Most hidden text is left out, but not all of it can be caught, so check the preview: you see every character before anything is sent. Set up once: 1. In your Navceed workspace, open the Connections page and create an extension key (it sends to one workspace only). 2. Paste the key into the panel's Settings. The key stays in your browser, expires after 90 days, and can be revoked on the Connections page or with "Sign out everywhere". What you can rely on: - Nothing leaves your browser until you click "Yes, send" (tables) or "Send to Navceed to read" (AI page reading). Reading a page is local. - It sends to one address only: https://navceed.com. It has no other network destination. For AI page reading, Navceed's server passes the text on to an AI provider; the privacy policy names it. - It sends the column names, the text of the cells in every row it read (the approval says how many rows; the preview shows the first few), the page address, the page title, an app label for the site (its domain, or a short code for a few well-known apps), the time you read the page, and a random id for this send. Nothing else from the page. - For AI page reading it sends the page's visible text that you see in the preview (about 50 KB at most), the page's site and path without anything after a ? or # (a part that looks like an id, an e-mail address or a long number is replaced by the word redacted), the page title, the site's name and a random id. - If a cell's text is kept by the page in a label or tooltip and not shown on screen, the preview marks it "hidden text" and the approval counts it, so you can see it before it is sent. - It never reads password, hidden-input, card-number or one-time-code fields, or anything you typed into a form. - Page addresses are cleaned before they are sent: sign-in details are removed, and a query string that looks like it holds a token, a secret or an e-mail address is dropped. - No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no remote code. - Plain-words messages when something is off: an expired or revoked key, a role that cannot bring data in, too many sends in a row, a full workspace, a table that is too big. Limits: up to 2,000 rows, 100 columns and 2 MB per table send; about 50 KB of text per AI read. Optional: "Always allow on this site" lets the panel read a particular https site without a toolbar click each time. Chrome asks you to confirm, it covers that one site only, and "Stop allowing" removes it. You need a Navceed workspace and an extension key to send anything.
