Learn a language from the songs you love. Letrino adds a study companion to Genius lyrics pages. Select any word or phrase in a song and get an explanation that uses the surrounding lyrics as context: what it means here, the slang or grammar behind it, and example sentences pitched at your level. FEATURES • In-context explanations: tap a word or phrase to see what it means in this song, not just in a dictionary. • Level-aware: set your native language and your level (A1–C2) for each language you're learning. Beginners get explanations in their native language; advanced learners get them in the language they're learning. • Line translation: see a literal translation of the line you selected, instantly. • Whole-song translation: turn on "Translate lyrics" to read a translation under every line. • Automatic language detection, with a manual override. • Optional Claude annotations: add your own Anthropic API key to get a deeper second opinion, with web research on slang and idioms and links to sources. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Explanations and translations run on your device using Chrome's built-in AI. Letrino has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. Lyrics are sent to Anthropic only if you add your own API key and choose "Annotate with Claude", and only after you agree. REQUIREMENTS • Desktop Chrome 138 or newer, on a device that meets Chrome's built-in AI requirements (Prompt API and Translator API). Chrome downloads its AI models the first time they're used. • For languages Chrome's built-in AI doesn't cover: a WebGPU-capable device and a one-time model download of about 1.8 GB. • Claude annotations are optional and need your own Anthropic API key; usage is billed to your Anthropic account. • Works on genius.com lyrics pages.
