LessPopUp
Overview
Quiet popup and tab-napping blocker for streaming sites. Toggle protection per-site, save favorites for next time.
STOP THE POPUP TAX. You came to watch a movie. You clicked play. Six new tabs spawn out of nowhere β a random casino, "you've won an iPhone," a fake browser update, a sketchy app trying to install itself. You close them. You click again. Six more. Streaming sites don't show those popups by accident. They're rent. Every click is rigged. LessPopUp un-rigs it. Cross-site popups close before they finish loading. Tab-napping redirects β the ones that swap your page out from under you for something completely unrelated β get reverted on the spot. Legit stuff (login dialogs, payment flows, video quality selectors, the IMDb link in the footer) keeps working, untouched. The blocker fires only on the sites you opt into, and it only kills tabs whose destination is a different domain than where you actually are. One switch turns it on. One "Remember this site" button saves it for future uses. WHY YOU'LL KEEP IT INSTALLED π― Targeted, not blanket. Runs only on sites you save. Your bank, inbox, work apps never see it. π Zero host permissions at install. Inert on every site until you explicitly opt in. No <all_urls> creep. π« Nothing leaves your machine. No analytics, no telemetry, no remote code. Local storage only. β‘ Fast and tiny. Vanilla JavaScript, zero runtime deps, 36 KB ZIP. πΎ Quiet. No banners, no nag screens, no sound effects. π‘οΈ Hardened. Sender-validated messaging, locked DOM hooks, strict input validation, MV3 default CSP β auditable from the source.
