You pay for the hour. You should get to keep it. Lesson Journal Recorder captures your language lesson — your microphone and the lesson tab as two separate tracks — and sends them to your Lesson Journal account. A few minutes later the lesson is written up: a recap of what you covered, the vocabulary that came up with meanings and examples, the corrections you were given, and how much of the hour you actually spoke. It works with any lesson you take in your browser, whatever site your teacher uses, as long as the audio plays in a tab. Before you install, please read this This extension records both people on the call, including your teacher. Tell your teacher you are recording and get their agreement. Some countries require everyone on a call to consent, and some tutoring platforms have their own rules about recording lessons. The extension says this on its first screen, before it asks you to sign in. How it works Sign in with your Lesson Journal account Open your lesson and press record Press end when the lesson finishes — both tracks upload then, and not before Your write-up appears in your journal a few minutes later What it does with your data Nothing is uploaded while the lesson is running. When you end it, both tracks go to your Lesson Journal account and are transcribed by OpenAI to produce the write-up. Recordings and their transcripts are deleted after 30 days, automatically. The write-up, your vocabulary and your progress are kept until you delete them. Your email address is used only to sign you in. Nothing is sold, and there is no advertising.
