Step 2: Set Up Your Gemini API Key Leetbot uses Google's Gemini API to power its AI responses. Get a Free API Key from Google AI Studio. Click the Leetbot extension icon in your browser toolbar to open the settings popup. Paste your Gemini API key into the field and click Save. Step 3: Start Solving on LeetCode! Open any LeetCode problem (e.g., [leetcode.com/problems/](https://leetcode.com/problems/)...). Look for the floating ✨ Ask Leetbot button on the bottom corner of your screen. Pick a strategy mode (Hint, Breakdown, Correction, Approaches, or General) and ask away! ⚙️ How It Works Context Extraction: When you ask a question, Leetbot securely extracts the problem description and your active code snippet directly from the LeetCode web page. Secure API Processing: The combined prompt is sent to the Gemini API using your personal API key. Interactive Guidance: Responses stream back directly into your chat panel with styled code snippets and markdown rendering. 🔒 Privacy & Security Your Key, Your Control: Your Gemini API key is stored locally in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.sync) and is never sent to any third-party backend servers. No Code Tracking: Leetbot only reads page content when you actively send a query in the chat dialog. Leetbot provides an interactive AI peer mentor directly on LeetCode problem pages to assist users with hints, code debugging, and solution breakdowns. Host permission for leetcode.com is strictly required to extract problem descriptions and the active editor code, as well as to inject the interactive Leetbot chat panel directly into the problem interface. The storage permission is used exclusively to save the user's personal Gemini API key and active preferences locally in their browser so they do not have to re-enter them every session. This extension does not download or execute any remote code or scripts. All execution logic is bundled locally within the extension package. API calls are strictly data-only HTTP fetch requests to Google's Gemini REST API.
