Quick Nook is the companion extension for Learning Journey (learningjourney.life). It turns your browser into a learning resource collector. Click the icon, pick a journey, and save. That's it. WHAT IT DOES • Saves any web page as a "Nook" (a learning resource) to your Learning Journey • Auto-detects the resource type: video, article, book, course, podcast, project, or other • Extracts title, description, and type-specific details (author, duration, platform, difficulty level) • Strips tracking parameters from URLs so your library stays clean • Warns you before saving duplicates • Remembers your last-used journey so repeat saves take seconds SMART DETECTION The extension recognizes pages across 50+ popular learning platforms — including video sites, course providers, book stores, podcast directories, code repositories, and article publishers. For pages not on the built-in list, Quick Nook still extracts metadata from structured data (JSON-LD), meta tags, and DOM patterns. You can always override the type and details manually. HOW IT WORKS 1. Navigate to any web page 2. Click the Quick Nook icon (or press Alt+Shift+N) 3. The form appears pre-filled with the page's metadata 4. Pick a journey, review the details, and hit "Save as Nook" Your nook is saved. The page never leaves your screen. TWO-PHASE DETECTION Phase 1 loads instantly — the extension classifies the page by URL and fills in basic details from the tab title. The form is usable immediately. Phase 2 runs in the background — deeper DOM analysis extracts richer metadata (descriptions, author names, course levels). Fields update automatically, but anything you've already edited stays untouched. SETUP 1. Install the extension 2. Click the icon and tap "Add Nook" 3.
