Overview

Clean your X feed. Take back control.

XpressPurge gives you real-time control over your X feed without logging into any third-party service, without sending your X feed content to a server, and without changing how X works for anyone else. Your rules, presets, hidden-post history, and analytics stay on your device by default. WHAT IT DOES XpressPurge runs a content script on x.com and twitter.com. As posts appear in your feed, the extension evaluates each one against your rules and either hides it, highlights it, or leaves it visible — instantly, as you scroll. No page reload required. RULE TYPES You can create rules based on: - Keywords or phrases (exact and partial match) - Account handles - Post contents: images, videos, quote posts, or external links - Low engagement (hide posts at or below a combined replies/reposts/likes threshold) - Link domain (hide posts linking to specific websites) Rules support multiple values per rule (chips). Each rule is assigned an action. RULE ACTIONS - Hide — removes matching posts from view - Boost — applies a visual highlight to matching posts so they stand out (local only, does not affect X ranking) - Snooze — temporarily hides matching content for a selected period, then turns the rule off automatically when the Snooze expires - Show-only — keeps matching posts visible and hides everything else (focus mode) Free plan includes 5 custom Hide rules with up to 5 values each, plus up to 2 custom presets and up to 2 active presets. Boost, Snooze, Show-only, Smart Rules, full analytics, browser sync, popup customization, and unlimited rules require Pro. PRESETS Group rules into named presets so your feed changes with your context. Create your own presets in the Options page, then toggle them from the toolbar popup or the Options page without editing individual rules. Free plan includes up to 2 custom presets. Pro unlocks unlimited presets. SMART RULES Smart Rules is a Pro workspace in the Options page. After explicit opt-in, XpressPurge can keep a capped local history of recent home-feed posts in IndexedDB so it can suggest better rules later. The retention cap is local to this device and can be cleared at any time. Smart Rules uses deterministic analysis only. It can suggest repeated account rules, repeated domain rules, recurring phrase rules, a low-engagement preset, and a cleanup preset. Users can Apply, Dismiss, or Edit before saving. XpressPurge never auto-creates or auto-enables Smart Rules on the user's behalf. TRAIN RULE FROM A POST The in-feed flame menu includes Train rule from this post. For Pro users, this opens a lightweight review modal with account, keyword, or domain suggestions derived from the current post. The user chooses whether to save one. No silent rule creation happens. SHOW-ONLY MODE Flip the filtering logic when you need focus. Show-only mode keeps posts that match your Show-only rules visible and hides everything else. Useful for research sessions, live events, or tracking a specific set of accounts or topics. Show-only mode is Pro. IN-FEED HIDE BUTTON A small control appears on detected posts in the feed. Click it to hide the author, create a quick keyword rule, open a full rule builder modal, or jump to Settings — without leaving your feed. TOOLBAR POPUP The extension popup shows your current filtering status, the number of posts hidden today, your active presets, and shortcuts to the Options page and x.com. Toggle filtering on or off with one click. ANALYTICS XpressPurge tracks the posts it hides and boosts locally using IndexedDB. The analytics view shows: - Posts hidden today - Today, 7d, 14d, and 30d ranges - Daily hidden-post chart - Top rules by hidden-post count - Top presets by hidden-post count - Seen vs visible counts - Feed health score - Estimated time saved - Top hidden accounts - Noise heatmap - Boosted post count - Recent hidden log with author handle and post preview Health score and estimated time saved are labeled as local estimates. Free includes the daily hidden-today count. Full analytics require Pro. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS - Alt+Shift+X — toggle filtering on or off - Alt+Shift+F — toggle Show-only mode IMPORT, EXPORT, AND DIAGNOSTICS Export your rules, presets, and settings to a JSON file for backup or migration. Import a previously exported file to restore your setup. Export does not include feed history, hidden-log previews, analytics events, or paid entitlement state. Download a diagnostics report (extension version, browser info, storage counts, settings summary, rule counts, selector status) to help with bug reports — diagnostics never include post text, rule values, or account email. BROWSER SYNC Pro users can opt in to browser sync to keep rules, presets, active presets, filtering state, hide behavior, and Show-only mode in sync across browsers through the browser provider's built-in sync storage. Sync is off by default and can be enabled, disabled, or cleared from the Sync tab in Options. Feed history, hidden-log previews, and analytics are never synced. ACCOUNT AND PRO ACTIVATION Upgrade to Pro from the XpressPurge website. After purchase, generate a one-time activation code on your account page and enter it in the Account tab of the Options page. Pro is device-linked. You can view and revoke active devices from your account page on the website. PRIVACY - No X/Twitter login required - Filtering runs entirely in your browser - Rules, presets, settings, and analytics are stored locally by default - No X post content, rule values, or hidden log entries are sent to a server; when activating Pro, only a locally generated device ID, browser label, and extension version are sent to the XpressPurge licensing API - Optional browser sync (Pro only) uses the browser provider's built-in sync infrastructure to keep rules, presets, active presets, filtering state, hide behavior, and Show-only mode in sync across browsers; off by default, no X post content is ever synced XpressPurge is an independent browser extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X Corp. FREE VS PRO Free includes: - Real-time filtering - 5 custom Hide rules (up to 5 values each) - 2 custom presets - 2 active presets - In-feed hide button and quick rule creation - Welcome page and onboarding flow - Toolbar popup - Hidden-today count - Import/export/diagnostics Pro includes everything in Free plus: - Unlimited rules and values per rule - Unlimited presets - Boost rules - Snooze rules - Show-only mode - Smart Rules with local opt-in feed history - Full analytics dashboard and hidden-post log - Browser sync - Popup layout customization
