vatra — Tab Manager & Vertical Tabs Side Panel

Overview
Vertical tabs side panel and tab manager. Your most-used tabs rise to the top. Search tabs and history, all local. No account.
vatra is a tab manager that lives in a vertical side panel. It sorts your open tabs by the attention they actually get, so the ones you keep coming back to stay at the top and the ones you've forgotten drop away. No folders to maintain, no sessions to save — order emerges from how you work. Already using Chrome's vertical tabs? Chrome keeps your tabs in the order you opened them; vatra orders them by the attention they actually get, in a panel that floats over the page on whichever edge you choose. - YOUR MOST-USED TABS RISE Every tab carries a heat bar — gold when fresh, cooling through ember and copper to grey — so your eyes find "that tab from an hour ago" before you finish thinking it. Forgotten tabs cool down and can sleep (suspend) automatically to free memory — never the active, pinned or audio-playing ones, and they reload instantly when you return. - THREE WAYS TO KEEP IT One button at the top of the strip picks how vatra stays. Auto-hide: a slim strip waits at the screen edge, and hovering it slides the full panel out. Pinned strip: the strip stays, and hovering a tab raises it with its neighbors as a wave of titles beside the strip — click one to switch. Pinned panel: the full panel stays open beside your page. Dock it to the left or the right edge. - SEARCH TABS AND HISTORY IN ONE BOX Press Alt+S and the panel slides out with search focused. Type a few letters, hit Enter, and you're on the best-matching tab. Several words in any order, and typos still land. Arrow down to reopen pages from your recent history. On pages where extensions can't draw, such as chrome:// pages, Alt+S opens vatra in Chrome's own side panel instead — and you can switch to that panel type for good in Settings. - ORGANIZE TABS WITHOUT THE WORK The Hot view sorts by real attention. The Domains view groups tabs by site. The Closed view lists what you recently closed — one click rekindles it. Pinned tabs gather around the first one at the top of the strip, and a time filter narrows everything to the last 15 minutes, up to the last month. - PRIVATE, AND EVERYTHING STAYS LOCAL No accounts. No sync. No analytics. Your tabs, history and settings are read on your device and never leave it. The only thing vatra ever sends anywhere is feedback you type and submit yourself — nothing else, and only when you press the button. Good for: too many tabs open, vertical tabs instead of a cramped tab strip, switching between tabs without hunting, reopening a tab you just closed, and freeing memory from tabs you stopped using. — "Vatra" (VAH-tra) is a word used across Ukraine and Southeast Europe for a hearth — the fire you gather around, leave, and return to. Work that matters shouldn't go cold. Keep your work warm.
