Font Changer - Font For This Site
Overview
Change the font per site. Pick a custom font for readability, plus text size and line spacing, on as many sites as you want.
Font Changer - Font For This Site changes the font on each http or https website you choose. Set a custom font for readability, and adjust text size and line spacing on that site. There is no limit on the number of sites. HOW IT WORKS Open an http or https page, click the extension icon, and pick a font installed on your computer or type a font family name and press Enter. The page updates immediately, without a reload. The first time you change a site, Chrome asks for permission to access that host. If you decline, the page stays as it was and no rule is saved. You can save a different custom font on every site you use. There is no limit on how many sites you add. Every site you have not changed keeps its own typography. Text size (50–200%) and line spacing can be set with the custom font or on their own, so a site is easier to read while keeping its font. Text scaling resizes text only. Photos, icons, videos, and embedded frames keep their original dimensions. If a rigid layout breaks, Settings has an optional "Zoom whole page instead of text only" mode (off by default). CLEAN OVERRIDES The extension overrides styles marked !important and inline font-family declarations. Turn a site off or click Reset site and the page returns to its original styling. What stays intact: • Code blocks and inline code keep their monospace font (text size scaling still applies to them). • Common icon fonts, images, videos, and embedded frame dimensions stay unchanged. • SVG graphics and math formulas are not modified. • Font weight, italics, letter spacing, and text color remain as the site designed them. Icon protection uses a built-in detection list, so an uncommon icon font may still change. PER-SITE RULES Each rule is one origin (scheme, host, and port). An https site and its http site, or two local ports, are separate rules. You can keep as many rules as you need. Rules persist across reloads and browser restarts. Styling reaches open shadow roots and same-origin iframes. Closed shadow roots are not accessed. A cross-origin frame changes only when you enable a rule for that site too. LOCAL FONTS AND SETTINGS The popup suggests fonts already installed on your computer. The list is read locally only to fill suggestions. Enter one family or a comma-separated fallback stack of up to 16 names. The extension does not download or install fonts and does not change Chrome's global font settings. If a typed font is missing, the browser uses its usual fallback. The gear icon opens Settings in a new tab: every saved site, its font, text size, and line spacing, with on/off and delete. A site that only sets size or spacing shows "site font". Reset site in the popup, or Delete in Settings, removes the rule, restores the page, and revokes host access when no other enabled rule needs that host. Chrome grants host access per hostname across ports, but styling applies only to the exact origins you enabled. Browser internal pages, PDF documents, and the Chrome Web Store cannot be restyled. The popup explains this and disables the controls there. PRIVACY AND INTERFACE No accounts, no analytics, and no remote code. The header globe offers Auto, English, and Русский. Light and Nord dark themes are included. Saved rules (origin, font family, optional text size and line spacing, enabled state, and last-modified time) stay in chrome.storage.local on your device. They are not synced and not sent anywhere. Requires Chrome 119 or newer.
