Overview

Warns you when you open a URL that's already open in another tab, and lets you jump to the existing tab.

Stop drowning in duplicate tabs. If you keep re-opening pages you already have open — your inbox, a dashboard, a doc, a ticket — Duplicate Tab Guard catches it. The moment a tab finishes loading a URL that's already open in another tab, a small prompt appears with two choices: • Navigate to that tab — closes the duplicate and jumps you straight to the tab you already had open. • Stay here — keeps the new tab and won't ask again for that page. That's it. No setup, no account, no clutter. HOW IT WORKS • Watches for a tab that lands on a URL already open in any of your Chrome windows. • Shows a clean in-page prompt (not an intrusive browser pop-up). • One click takes you to the original tab and clears the duplicate. SMART MATCHING • Matches URLs exactly, so different pages on the same site are never confused. • Ignores a trailing slash, so "example.com/page" and "example.com/page/" count as the same page. • Treats different query parameters or #sections as different pages — because they usually are. • Works across all your open Chrome windows. PRIVACY FIRST • No accounts. No tracking. No analytics. • Makes zero network requests and sends nothing off your device. • Reads open tab URLs only on your own machine, purely to detect duplicates. Lightweight, quiet, and out of your way until you actually need it.
