Before You Ask AI, Give Your Private Details An Alias. Witalias helps you prepare a separate, reviewed copy before sharing with an AI assistant. Keep useful context, replace repeated names consistently and remove selected private details. THREE WAYS TO START • PDFs, including supported scans: export a protected PDF. Up to 20 MB and 50 pages. • JPG, PNG and WebP photos: export PNG, JPG or PDF. Up to 20 MB and 24 MP input; output at most 12 MP. Original photo metadata is not copied; transparency becomes white. • Pasted plain text: copy the protected result or download UTF-8 TXT. Up to 50,000 UTF-16 code units. Rich-text formatting is not retained. REVIEW BEFORE SHARING Choose aliases, removals or intentionally keep original details. Add exact custom terms or draw removal areas on PDFs and photos. Inspect the protected result. A detector can miss information; faces, signatures, context and image content need your own review. LOCAL PROCESSING File bytes, pasted text, recognised text, findings and alias mappings are processed on your device and are not sent to Witalias or an AI provider. The extension does not read AI chats, other pages or browsing history. It does not intercept uploads; you share the protected copy separately. All executable code and WASM are bundled, including English OCR data. Selecting one of the other supported OCR languages downloads model data only from witalias.com and verifies it against bundled checksums. Twelve OCR language choices are available; identifier detection varies by language and country. English remains the interface and support language. ACCOUNT AND PRICING The bundled synthetic PDF sample needs no account and can work offline. Your own files and text require a verified Witalias account, online access and an available allowance. Website and extension share account allowance. The website offers one first export without registration in that browser; this is not an additional free export per input type. Witalias Monthly is EUR 4.99 per month, inclusive of applicable taxes, for 100 prepared items per paid billing period. Trying a file never starts a subscription. PERMISSIONS AND NETWORK The only host permission is https://witalias.com/*. It supports account activation, session and allowance checks and selected OCR model-data downloads. Account identifiers and random document-session IDs are handled separately from local document contents. There are no content scripts, clipboard-read, browsing-history or optional permissions. Copying protected text occurs only after a user action. LIMITS Office formats, HEIC, encrypted PDFs, editable forms, signed PDFs and other unsupported structures are excluded. OCR may fail on poor-quality content. Native PDF page dimensions and surrounding positions are retained; scan pages are rasterised, and replacement labels may use a different font. Output is not a guarantee of anonymity, legal compliance, accessibility tagging or complete PII discovery. Witalias cannot delete data already shared elsewhere.
