Lazy Finger
Overview
Protection layer against malicious and accidental link clicks.
Lazy Finger adds a protection layer between you and every link you click. Before navigating to a destination, the extension opens a modal overlay showing you exactly where you're going — including redirect chains, domain reputation checks, and homoglyph (lookalike character) detection. KEY FEATURES • Click Interceptor — catches link clicks across all pages and iframes before the browser navigates • Homoglyph Detection — flags domains using visually deceptive characters (e.g. "payрal.com" with a Cyrillic "р") • Redirect Tracing — follows redirect chains and shows the final destination URL • URL Reputation Check — optional integration with external reputation APIs (API key stored locally, never sent anywhere else) • javascript: href Protection — detects and blocks javascript: links with a clear warning • Whitelist — trusted domains can be whitelisted to skip the modal entirely • Settings Page — manage API keys, and configure your whitelist PRIVACY All processing happens locally in your browser. API keys are stored in chrome.storage.local and are never shared with Lazy Finger servers (there are none). No browsing data is collected or transmitted by this extension. OPEN SOURCE Lazy Finger is fully open source. You can review the code, report issues, or contribute on GitHub: https://github.com/Kopselek/lazyfinger
