Overview
Displays the last modified timestamp of a webpage
Ever wonder if the information you're viewing on a webpage is current? "Last Modified Timestamp" takes the guesswork out of it! This handy Chrome extension finds and displays the last modified date of any webpage, even if it's not visible on the site itself. Trigger the extension on any page by clicking the extension icon. We employ a smart, sequential search to locate the most reliable timestamp: * We first check the dedicated `<meta name="last-modified">` tag. * Next, we look for other relevant meta tags containing "updated" or "modified" dates, including Open Graph (OG) properties. We also search for "published" timestamps if no modification date is found. * Our extension then analyzes Schema.org structured data (JSON-LD and microdata), which often includes precise publication and modification information. * If no structured data is found, we examine the HTML content for `<time>` elements and common date-related CSS classes. * Finally, as a fallback, we retrieve the `Last-Modified` header from the web server. "Last Modified Timestamp" helps you: * **Ensure you're viewing the latest information.** * **Assess the relevance and reliability of content.** Install "Last Modified Timestamp" today and never be in the dark about a webpage's freshness again!
