Your personal language learning assistant

Learn languages from what you already read and watch: web pages with translations under each paragraph, YouTube videos with bilingual transcripts and dictation, social posts shared as bilingual cards, and courses with vocabulary in real sentences. Bilingual web pages • Turn on translation from the floating LangBox button. With the Append layout, the original text stays and the translation appears under each paragraph; the Replace layout is also available. • Words from your learning goal are highlighted so you spot them while reading. • Double-click any word to view its meaning in the current sentence. YouTube: bilingual transcript and dictation • Click Bilingual dictation next to Like. The video moves to the left and a transcript appears on the right, line by line, with your language under each sentence. • Press D to start dictation. Each sentence turns into blanks, and the video pauses when the sentence ends. Type what you heard and press Enter: correct, misheard, missing, and extra words are marked word by word. • Tap Ctrl to replay, Shift+Enter to show the current word (counted as missed), and [ or ] to adjust speed from 0.5x to 1.5x. Typing never triggers YouTube hotkeys. • Works on videos with captions, including auto-generated captions. The transcript, dictation, and answer checking work without signing in. Share posts as bilingual cards • Translate a post on X or Threads, then open its card (Bilingual tweet card on X, Bilingual post card on Threads): the original text and the translation together, with the author and date. • Choose a layout: Bilingual reading, Compact, or Translation focus. Toggle Photos, Background, and LangBox credit on or off, then click Copy image to share. Courses • Practise vocabulary through cloze exercises in full sentences, with hints in your native language, plus sentence and grammar exercises. • English courses cover CEFR A1 to C2, IELTS, and everyday English; Spanish courses cover A1 to B1. Content and question types vary by course and native language. Review scheduling adapts to your answers. • Courses run on the LangBox Learning page and require signing in with Google. Also included • Read PDF and EPUB files bilingually in the LangBox reader, chapter by chapter. • Click Add to learning to send a video's English captions to your private Pro course for listening practice. Personalised learning When personalised recommendations are on, you use a LangBox-provided model, and you have available quota, eligible translated material can enter your learning workflow. Not every lookup becomes an exercise. Translations made using your own API key are excluded. Getting started Install LangBox. To read, open any page and turn on translation from the floating LangBox button. To watch, open a captioned YouTube video and click Bilingual dictation next to Like. To share, translate a post on X or Threads and open its card. To practise, select Learning page from the LangBox toolbar popup. Usage notes The YouTube transcript and dictation features require no account. Translation and document reading rely on LangBox model services, which are quota-limited; guests receive a limited trial allowance, while users with their own API key pay provider-determined rates. Translations and dictionary hints can be inaccurate, so always check context. Live streams are not supported yet. Sentence exercises check for a specific target expression, so another reasonable answer may be rejected.
