Overview

Instant broker risk signals on the DAT One load board — vet a broker before you call, without leaving the page.

Vet the broker before you call. LaneScout puts a risk badge on every broker row of the DAT One load board — Clear, Caution, High Risk, or Unverified — built from the public FMCSA record. Zero clicks: the badge is already there when the row renders. WHAT IT CHECKS • Authority — how new the MC is, and whether it was reinstated recently • Contact — the posted phone and email domain against FMCSA's • Record changes — the FMCSA file changed recently, or a long-established broker's contact just flipped to free-mail or a brand-new domain • Clusters — one address or phone behind several distinct operators • Bond — BMC-84/85 canceled, pending cancellation, or not on file • Identity — posted name against the MC's FMCSA name, contact domains registered days ago, and a second booking address buried in the load comments Click a badge for the evidence behind it — every signal with the FMCSA values it came from, and the date the record was pulled. Our FMCSA mirror refreshes daily. Free accounts get 50 dossier opens per day. THE SAME CHECK, ON YOUR EMAIL (Pro, optional, off by default) The impersonation you meet on the board also arrives in your inbox, so the same identity check runs there if you turn it on. It flags mail that invokes FMCSA or USDOT from a non-government address, "sign in" links that lead somewhere other than .gov, sender domains a character or two off a real registered broker's, domains registered in the last 90 days, and rate confirmation or document links that point straight at an executable file — because freight paperwork is never a program. This part works without a DAT One account. It is part of Pro — the board badges are the free half. Nothing is registered or read until you switch it on. The subject and body are read on your machine and never transmitted, and attachments are not opened at all — only the sender's domain and the link hostnames are checked. Turning the toggle off releases the permission. WHAT LEAVES YOUR BROWSER Only the broker identifier needed for the lookup, plus any contact address written into the posting's comments. Rates, lanes and postings stay on DAT — never stored, never resold. If a lookup fails, nothing appears and the board never slows down. We never call anyone a scammer. Every line is a checkable fact about a public record, and any company can dispute a flag at lanescout.io/dispute. REPORTED BY DISPATCHERS, REVIEWED BY A PERSON If a posting used a contact that wasn't the broker's, you can report that contact — the phone, the email, the domain. Not the company. It goes to a queue, a person reviews it, and nothing you report changes a badge until it's approved. Because it matches the contact exactly, the real broker whose name was used is never flagged by it, and we tell them it happened. You can also log how a broker actually worked out in one tap — paid fine, slow pay, didn't pay, double-brokered, couldn't reach. That's private; it isn't published, and it's used to calibrate which signals are worth showing you. PRICING Free — badges on every row, 50 dossier opens a day. Pro $15/mo — the email layer, live FMCSA re-verification when you open a dossier, watched-broker change alerts, unlimited dossiers. Team $12/seat/mo, three seats and up. Paid plans start from the extension after you install. Built by a working dispatcher. lanescout.io · privacy at lanescout.io/privacy LaneScout is an independent tool from M8 LLC and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to DAT Solutions, Google, or FMCSA. Signals are informational aids derived from public records, not a determination about any company or person. Always verify independently before booking.
