Ladybird lets you layer custom buttons, links, tooltips, and area callouts onto any web page and manage them from Chrome’s side panel. Keep frequently used actions in one place, shorten click-paths, and add just-in-time hints for teammates without touching the site’s code. Key features: - Unified side panel to manage per-page items, a cross-site overview, and settings. - Visual picker that highlights elements (including same-origin iframes) and auto-generates selectors. - Rich elements: button, link, tooltip, or area with flexible placement and styles. - Action flows: click, wait, input, navigate, log, if, while before any fallback URL or selector. - Robust persistence in chrome.storage.local; restores on reload and reinjects after DOM changes. - Shadow DOM isolation keeps styles consistent regardless of the host page’s CSS. Permissions (why): - tabs to read the active tab and coordinate injections. - storage to keep per-page configuration local to the browser. - sidePanel to show the management UI in Chrome’s side panel. - webNavigation plus <all_urls> host permission to detect same-origin frames and re-apply injection after navigations. What it doesn’t do: - No data collection, selling, or third-party sharing. - No execution of remote code; only packaged code runs. - Does not read or transmit page content beyond what is necessary to render the injected UI. Typical uses: - Put a one-click “Open docs” link next to complex forms. - Add a tooltip that explains a field or links to internal guidance. - Create a small operations hub on dashboards with your most frequent actions. Localization: - Ships with English, Japanese, and Chinese UI strings on an i18n foundation. New in 1.0.2: - Storage now scopes elements by site and page to avoid cross-page interference. - Editor polish: clearer component details and smoother manage/edit workflows. - Action flows: drag step numbers to reorder; type chips more visible; add menu pinned at the top. - Stability fixes across styling, sync, and edge interactions.
