Find what is pushing your webpage out of bounds. Overflow Detector helps developers and designers investigate horizontal page overflow directly in the browser. Start a scan to highlight elements extending beyond the viewport, then inspect the results to find where your layout needs attention. • Scan the current page for horizontal overflow. • Inspect element selectors and overflow amounts in a searchable issue list. • Sort by largest overflow and jump to a problem element. • Temporarily hide and restore elements to investigate their effect on the layout. • Adjust tolerance from 0 to 150 CSS pixels to filter small overflows. • Show outlines around page elements independently of scanning. • Choose soft tint and animated stripe highlights. • Switch between dark and light themes. Your preferences are remembered locally. While a scan is active, results update in response to common page changes. Clipped and scrollable content is accounted for, helping reduce false positives from components such as logo marquees. Local and private: layout inspection happens inside your browser. The extension does not upload page content or scan results, and includes no analytics, ads, or account requirement. Page access is granted when you open the extension, without permanent access to all websites. How to use: 1. Open a webpage and click Overflow Detector in the browser toolbar. 2. Click Scan page. 3. Open Issues to inspect, locate, or temporarily hide flagged elements. 4. Stop the scan to remove issue highlights and restore hidden elements. All outlines has its own toggle. Scope: scans the main document; iframe contents and shadow roots are not inspected. Complex clipping and transformed/generated content can be approximate. Browser-protected pages, including Chrome settings and the Chrome Web Store, cannot be scanned. This is a diagnostic aid; an intentional layout can still produce a reported issue.
