Tab Limbo - Simple auto-close for tabs, searchable with AI

Too many tabs open "just in case"? Close them without losing them. Easy Claude API integration (with your own API key) automatically sorts tabs into categories and subcategories. Search via Claude integration helps you find that article in your library that you can't remember the name (or website) of. (For example: "that article about the guy who doesn't want weird-colored eggs for breakfast" would return "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss) Tab Limbo quietly closes tabs after a length of time you choose: an hour, a day, a week. Every tab it closes is saved to your personal library, so you can find it again in seconds instead of digging through your browser history. HOW IT WORKS • Pick how long a tab can stay open. It closes automatically after that. • Closed tabs go into your searchable library, newest first. • Search by keyword, or filter by website, date range, topic, or subtopic. • One click reopens anything you want back. SMART ORGANIZING (OPTIONAL) • Add your own Anthropic Claude API key in Settings and the library sorts itself into topics and subtopics — like "School › Business schools" or "Shopping › Laptops" — with a short one-line summary for each tab. • Ask in plain English, like "that article about negotiating a job offer", and Tab Limbo's Claude integration finds and ranks the matching tabs from your library. • Click any category chip in the library to edit its topic or subtopic label yourself. YOU STAY IN CONTROL • The tab you are currently looking at is never closed. • Pinned tabs and tabs playing audio are skipped by default (configurable in Settings). • Add any website domain you never want auto-closed (for example, mail.google.com or google.com). • Choose whether the timer counts from when you opened a tab or when you last viewed it. PRIVACY Your library and settings are stored locally on your own computer. The automatic tab-closing, keyword search, and filtering features work completely offline without any account and send nothing anywhere. If you turn on optional AI sorting or natural-language search, the titles and web addresses (URLs) of your closed tabs are sent directly from your browser to Anthropic's API using your own API key. We do not operate any backend servers, and we never collect, see, or share your browsing data. PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED • Tabs — Read tab titles and web addresses before closing timed-out tabs so they can be saved to your local library and reopened later. • Storage & Unlimited Storage — Store your closed-tab library and settings locally on your device without hitting Chrome's default 10 MB cap as your library grows. • Alarms — Wake up once a minute in the background to check whether any inactive tabs have passed your time limit. • Favicons — Display website icons next to saved tabs in your library. • Host access to api.anthropic.com — Used only if you add your own Anthropic API key to categorize closed tabs and answer natural-language searches.
