Kotiq Translate

Translate selected text on any page, fully on-device — with the browser's built-in translator or a bundled offline engine.

Translate any text you select on a web page — instantly, and entirely on your device. Kotiq Translate uses Chrome's built-in, on-device translation model, so your text is never sent to a server. Select a word or a passage, and the translation appears right where you're reading. Then build your own vocabulary and practice it, all without leaving the page. FEATURES • Select-to-translate — translate a selection from a small icon at the selection or from the right-click menu. • On-device and private — no accounts, no servers, no tracking. Your text never leaves your browser. • Works beyond Chrome 138 — in Chromium browsers without the built-in translator, Kotiq offers its own offline engine: open-source translation models (Mozilla / Bergamot) download once per language pair after your explicit consent, then work fully offline. • Read aloud, in both languages — hear the original and the translation spoken by your system's on-device voices. Network voices are never used. • Personal vocabulary — save any translation and browse it in the side panel. • Flashcards — turn your saved words into quick multiple-choice practice. • Long passages — full text is translated as it's produced, not just the first few lines. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything runs locally. Kotiq Translate has no backend and collects no personal data; its only network request is the one-time, consented download of offline translation models (data, never code). Your selected text, translations, and vocabulary stay on your device. REQUIREMENTS • A desktop Chromium browser: Chrome 138+ uses the built-in translation model; other Chromium browsers (Chrome 116+, Brave, Dia) use Kotiq's offline engine. • On first use of a language, Chrome downloads that language's translation model to your device; after that, translation works offline.
