Overview

Overlay live precipitation nowcasts and weather forecasts on the Komoot route planner.

Komoot Weather overlays live precipitation nowcasts and hourly forecasts directly on the Komoot route planner, so you can see the conditions along your route before you set off. The problem it solves Komoot is great for deciding where to ride or hike, but the planner shows you nothing about the weather. To judge conditions you have to leave the map, open a separate forecast app, and then mentally guess which forecast applies to which part of your route. That is slow, disconnected from the route you just planned, and easy to get wrong. Komoot Weather closes that gap. It paints the weather onto the map you are already looking at, anchored to the route on screen. Instead of a city-level forecast for somewhere near your ride, you see rain and temperature along the exact line you drew. What you get - Live precipitation nowcast — see where rain and snow are right now, painted over your planned route. - Forecast timeline — scrub through an hourly forecast with local-time labels, a unit legend, and a value readout for the point under your cursor. - Radar and forecast modes — switch between a combined live radar view and a user-selected forecast product such as precipitation or temperature. - Route-aligned overlay — the imagery is re-anchored to each data source's bounds, so it lines up with Komoot's own map as you pan and zoom. - Collapsible in-page panel — a lightweight panel sits inside the planner, so you can toggle layers and collapse it out of the way when you are done. How it works 1. Open the Komoot planner and plan or load a route exactly as you normally would. 2. Toggle the weather overlay on from the floating panel. 3. Pick a layer and time, and read the conditions along your route. No new account, no new tab, no copy-pasting coordinates. Privacy-first by design The extension only observes the page you already have open. There is no automated or bulk access to Komoot, and no browsing history is collected. The only data sent to our servers is the route geometry you are already viewing, which is used to line up the weather overlay. See the privacy policy for details.
