Help plan and understand the ride you have planned in Komoot. Colour mountain-bike trails, explore terrain and climbing, check mapped trail warnings, and choose useful moments to keep as named route POIs. SEE THE TRAILS Choose colours for S0–S5 difficulty levels and display mapped mud, vegetation, obstacles and trail widths. The compact floater keeps trail colours and Analyse route within reach. UNDERSTAND YOUR RIDE Analyse route brings the ride overview and trail checks together. See distance, ascent and route character, with separate surface and way-type breakdowns. Find sustained Gravel, Trails and Technical sections, concentrated climbing and steep climbs. Komoot supplies surfaces, way types and elevation; native MTB grades take priority, with conservative OSM matching used where grades are missing. INSPECT WHAT MATTERS Riding sections and mapped warnings appear together in distance order. Hover or keyboard focus highlights a section without moving the map; click to zoom closer. Highlight missing-grade stretches and expand data-gap notices when you want more detail. Set your own difficulty, width and section-detection thresholds. KEEP USEFUL MOMENTS Preview proposed Gravel, Trails, Technical, Hills, Steep climb and Halfway POIs. Inspect each suggestion, select it individually, then add only the points you approve. Existing matching points are excluded from approval. Names fit within 16 characters, and points use exact positions along your route. The extension verifies route geometry and existing waypoint metadata and attempts restoration if insertion fails. Save your route in Komoot when ready; synchronization with supported navigation devices is handled by Komoot and device manufacturers. Show hazards is enabled by default. Outside Finnish coverage, map hazards and route checks send geographic area bounds to Private.coffee, VK Maps or overpass-api.de; these providers also receive your IP address and normal request metadata. Explicit route-data refresh sends area bounds even inside local coverage. Geofabrik receives public country-data download requests, not route geometry. Preferences may synchronize through your browser account when sync is enabled. The project operates no server receiving route data and includes no analytics or advertising tracking.
