Overview

Folds reviewer-agreed Go code, such as getters and if err != nil blocks, in GitHub PR diffs. Private repos require GitHub sign-in.

go-tebanare folds Go code that your team agreed not to review in the "Files changed" tab of GitHub pull requests, so reviewers can focus on the code that matters. Works on public repositories without signing in. Private repositories require being signed in to GitHub. HOW IT WORKS Add a .gotebanare.yml file to your repository and list the presets to apply: version: 1 presets: - getter - noop - iferr When you open a pull request's "Files changed" tab, the extension parses each changed Go file and collapses the matched code into a fold row that names the rule. Click a fold row to show the lines again. PRESETS • getter: methods that only return a field of the receiver, such as func (u *User) Name() string { return u.name } • noop: methods that take no parameters, return nothing, and have an empty body • iferr: if err != nil blocks that return the error unchanged SAFE BY DESIGN • The configuration is read from the base branch, so a pull request cannot change its own rules. • Code stays visible when a file fails to parse, when a match shares a line with other code, or when the page does not match the analyzed source. • Turn hiding off for a tab from the popup or with Alt+Shift+H. PRIVACY The extension talks only to GitHub. It reads the pull request's files from github.com with your existing GitHub session; when you are not signed in, it asks GitHub's public REST API (api.github.com) for the pull request's commits, without credentials. Source code is analyzed locally in your browser by a bundled WebAssembly engine and is never sent anywhere else. There is no analytics or tracking.
