Knows for YouTube adds a side panel to YouTube video pages so you can understand a video in your own language. WHAT IT DOES • Translate – translate the video's subtitles into your language, show bilingual subtitles on the player and export them (SRT/TXT). • Summarize – a clear overview with chapters and clickable timestamps that jump to that moment in the video. • Analyze – main claims, supporting arguments, limitations and points that still need checking. • Ask – ask follow-up questions about the current video; answers cite timestamps. • History and memos – signed-in users can find their past results and keep private notes across devices. • 8 interface languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French and German. ABOUT "YY" "YY" is the extension's built-in AI assistant service. With the default option, "YY helps you understand", it works out of the box: no account, API key or setup required. If you prefer, you can choose a supported AI service in the settings and use your own API key instead (that provider bills you directly). FREE AND PAID PLANS • Free: 30 requests per day, reset at 00:00 US Eastern Time (follows daylight saving time). No account needed. • Pro (5,000 requests/month), Max (30,000 requests/month) and Ultra (unlimited, subject to fair-use rate limits), for 1, 3 or 12 months. • Promotion: new users get 50% off their first order. • Choose a plan, then the duration and how to pay: WeChat Pay (CNY) or PayPal (USD); activated automatically after payment. • No automatic renewal. Each successfully completed request counts once; failed or cancelled requests are not counted. • Buying a plan requires signing in with an email account. YOUR DATA When you start a task, the video ID, title, link and the subtitles needed are sent to our service and to the AI service in use. Available original subtitles of public videos are kept in a shared subtitle library that other users can reuse; your account, history, questions, memos and keys are private to you. For the visual summary of videos without subtitles, the needed video frames are sent and kept with your own task. A personal API key is stored only in your browser and sent over HTTPS for each request, used only in memory. No ads, no third-party analytics.
